Remove Program From Add/Remove Programs
The following is by Tom Syroid
Ever installed a program you couldn't get rid of? Who hasn't at one point or another...
The Add/Remove Programs feature (under Control Panel) is not well know for its functionality. Oh it works all right — for the most part. Right up until you really, desperately need to uninstall a program. At this point, you usually get some wonderfully insightful message like: "Unable to find DEISL1.ISU". Ain't life grand? I finally found the following Registry edit buried deep in one of my spiral-bound notebooks. The following will remove an entry from system's Add/Remove Program list:
Now check the Add/Remove Programs box again. The entry should be gone. NOTE: This WILL NOT will not remove the program or any of its widely scattered DLL's. It will simply remove the Control Panel applet listing.
Two points. Bookmark this entry or cut/copy it to a file on your computer. Chances are that in a month I will not remember where it is. And until I get a search engine installed, your guess will be as good as mine.
Second, this edit comes with the usual caveat: Back up your Registry files before you mess around. If you break the Registry, you could disable your system permanently. Well, not permanently. But you risk gaining some quick experience with operating system reinstallations.
