I have been doing a fair bit of printing at home for my studies and the printer setup has not been up to the job. I have been using the wireless access point as a print server and it fails under any kind of load. The Lexmark printer we have has a built in network connection so I connected it to the network and setup IP printing to the printer. Tested out fine.

Feeling under the weather and so many people are sick at work so I took the day off to fight off what ever bug is in my system. Took the time to get two study modules read.

I have been using the study materials at howtonetwork.net for my CCNA studies. I check the message boards about once a week to see if anyone has any interesting questions etc. I noticed in the weekly newsletter that people who post good questions can win time on the rental rack of Cisco equipment to use for doing lab work. I came across in issue with vlans in a lab last night so posted a question on the message board for two reasons. One I wanted and answer to my query and two winning some rack time would be nice. I got 10 hours of rack time for my question which gives me a total of 20 hours which should be enough lab time for my studies. Currently I am doing my labs in the netsimk simulator and saving my rack time for labs that I need real equipment to accomplish.

It has been a beautiful sunny winter day. The high on the gauge I think was 10 degrees Celsius, but the sun made it feel much warmer. I was working in front yard in a long sleeve shirt and it felt too warm at times. We want to put stone and some plants along the fence on the south side of the front yard and I did some prep work so we can put down weed barrier.
After walking the dogs and having a late lunch we did some studying and almost passed on mowing the lawn. I remembered that earlier this winter I passed on an opportunity to mow the lawn and had to wait for a week or more for the next opportunity so I put the studies down and gave the lawn a quick mow. It was only a half grass catcher of grass as it was more of a tidy up than a full mowing. The lawn grows in patches. Not sure if the green growning spots are where the dogs are peeing and pooping or not.

Another sunny day. A bit of studying, walk the dogs, got groceries, bathed a dog.
