My friend Dan in Hawaii emailed asking if the earthquake caused us any harm. The earth quake happened Wednesday night at the far south end of the south island. It was in an isolated area and little damage was done. The quake was around the same intensity as the quake that devastated Napier in 1931. Given the location on the quake we did not feel a thing.

Finally got a hold of my contact at one client site and was able to get into their data center and reboot a tape library. I talked with tech support in Singapore and reported that I had done the reboot as requested. They did some testing then told me I could leave the site. The service desk got a call later that they wanted me back at the site and this was just before 5 PM. I got access to the site and talked to Singapore again and they had me reboot the tape library again and still unit was not initialized. They said that they would call me back but they could not get through to my mobile. I called them and they wanted another reboot. I could see that the reboot was not going to fix anything so started looking at the tape library and found the the robot that moves the tapes was jammed and not moving. I then rebooted the unit again it initialized correctly. I spent a bit more time on the phone with Singapore and was done.

Good thing we went to New Plymouth yesterday and did a walk with the dogs and a bit of shopping as today has been mostly raining. There have been a few breaks for the rain like when we walked to the store to get a few supplies we missed on the big shop yesterday.
Today has mostly been studies and house keeping. I got some CCNA labs done which started out poorly due to technical issues but got better after I got the issues sorted out.
