I use remote access all the time at work to assist users, So yesterday when I was helping my mom with her wireless network I used Microsofts remote assisstnce feature in Windows XP to help her out. Was nice to be able to see what she sees on screen.

Register.com is sure quick to grab a domain name once it has expired. I see that they have taken back domain cubicle19.com which I used to own but did not renew on the due date which was early last week.

Emma took Piper to the vet today after noticing some discharge. Turns out she has a uterine infection that can be very serious, even fatal. She can be treated but that does not guarantee that the infection will not return. It could return as a closed infection which would mean we would see no symptoms. So tomorrow she will be spayed which will take care of the issue, we hope.

My boss asked me to add our MAPI Outlook Profile Tool to my tool collection for everyone to use. It would not work in all situations when launched from my HTA file. So I made my own MAPI tool based on addprof.exe from a Microsoft resource kit. I then re wrote the HelpDesk tool from jscript to vbscript, made a HTA just for the MAPI tool then made a HTA that acts as a menu to launch the four HTA based tool sets I have created. Worked well in testing, I just need to pretty things up a bit. I have wanted to combine all the tools like this for a while just have not had a good reason to do the work. Nice to now have everything written in the same language and have a single point of entry for all the tools.

I dropped Piper of at the vet on my way to work and she was spayed. They checked her uterus after they removed it and it was full of puss from pyrometris. The vet said it was a moderate case. Piper is now convalescing nicely at home and we are busy spoiling our little girl.

I worked on the presentation of the menu I made in an hta file today for the tools I have been bringing together into a central point of access. I had the trainer/helpdesk lady look at it as she will be one of the tools users and she liked it. Next week when my boss gets back from vacation I will run it by her, make any required changes then roll out the new tool setup.

Piper started off her post surgery recovery last night in an infant size T-shirt to keep her from her stitches.

When I got home from work today she had graduated to wearing a cone on her head to keep her away from her stitches.

Started the day off with a trip to the dump to dispose of some of our junk plus I hauled some old deck material to dump for the church pastor. Then got into yard work mode. While Emma worked on the stone ring around one of the trees I fixed the gate, then started hauling mulch and putting it around the trees.

Picked up another load of mulch then finished building a PC for my mother in law. I picked up a freebie computer from work for her. Emma got her a nice Logitec cordless keyboard and mouse for mothers day that I had to setup when we delivered the PC. The mouse did not work at first and I followed the instructions to use the PS2 connection. In the end the mouse would only work when the wireless base station was connected via USB which the instructions said to only do it you do not have PS2 connectors.
