We learned late last week that our youngest dog Piper has cataracts. They are very minor and most likely will never affect her in any way. We were undecided as to whether Piper would be have a litter and this defiantely put her in the no category as we and the breader do not want to put a genetic defect back into the gene pool. This also affects the breeder as Piper has siblings that were expected to have litters now need to have their eys checked. Emma did some research and Pipers dad has cataracts, and our breader was not made aware of this. Emma and the breeder are rather miffed that the owner of the stud nor the breeder he was working with did not disclose the health issue with the dog.

I hear of people buying motorcycles off ebay, so I tried to sell mine on ebay. No luck but may have a few leads from the auction.

I read an article this morning on some tech news site that some major web site hosts are finding the Google search engine is dropping them or drastically changing the rankings for some sites. They claim this has been happening since early march of this year and some speculate the issue is cause by some of Google's upgrades.

We have confirmed Piper's cataracts with another specialist, and a dialogue has started between all the parties involved the the breeding of the litter Piper was part of. Emma is hoping that Pipers cataracts will lead to the breeders we know learning to do a better job of screening and picking dogs for mating.

I setup a .htaccess file to do a 301 redirect of we traffic to an old site to it's new location. Works like a charm and hopefully the search engine spiders will pick it up and update their indexes. Though I have say Google is the only search engine that I have had an issue with when I moved a web site to a domain.

Crazy day to the streets in Calgary today. Traffic accidents and construction everywhere.

The thing I hate about selling stuff is the waiting. Tonight I am waiting for someone to come look at the motorcycle I am selling.

For the first time I have used my ipod to move large files between two computers. I had some vmware virtual machine setup at work using my own software that would be usefull at home. So I copied them to the ipod at work then copied them to a PC at home.

Picked up a few things for the yard, which needs to be mowed for the first time this year. Hard to believe that we are almost half way through May already and projects for the yard are piling up.

Stumbled upon an interesting email product announcment. PostPath is which is to be released June 2006, is said to be a complete Microsoft Exchange replacement, that can even work with existing Exchange servers in an enterprise environment. There is to be a free 12 user version which maybe a useful for home and small offices.
