The City has put up signs in at least one local green space in our neighbourhood telling people to either clean up after their dogs or face fines up to $50.00. While out walking we have seen areas so covered in dog droppings that you would be hard pressed to walk though it with out soiling your shoes. There are lots of public garbage cans and bags for picking up after your dog so there is no reason not to. We see it at the dog shows too. They announce that some areas out side the building are off limits for dogs to go potty, but still people use them and fail to cleanup after wards. Soon the people that rent out their buildings for dog shows will stop doing so.

Working in the home lab a bit tonight. The other night I installed Debain Linux on a old desktop machine and am currently typing this update on it in using Bluefish as my HTML editor. After a RAM upgrade I hope this machine will make for a good testbed for learning a few things like running a linux based DNS server, plus let me do a little basic Linux desktop testing.

I got a bit more Linux work done in the home lab last night. I switch over from Gnome to KDE on the test box. Gnome is ok, but I am more familiar with KDE so I prefer it as my desktop. I tried to install Bluefish om my other Linux box but the Debain package gave me dependency errors. I did an apt-get -f install and the dependency issues were fixed and Bluefish worked like a charm.

It has been foggy and grey most of the week. The air downtown is smelly from all the pollution being held down by the weather. This makes my morning walk not so pleasant.

Happy Birthday Emma. I took Emma shopping and we picked up some new glasses and plates for the house, plus a few things just for Emma.

My online reading has been changing lately since I discovered digg.com, lxnr.com and howtoforge.com

. All three sites on definately on the geeky side, but that is what I like.
