After Fridays rebuild of one of the servers in my Exchange lab I found that my DNS issues were fixed both for the servers and the worksations running under VMware.

Work consisted of working on my lab, training people on a MS-Word Macro based application I did some development work on a few months ago, and a bit of helpdesk work plus a pinch of admin work.
Emma and I took Piper and Jazmine to obedience class to night. We worked on heeling, sitting and not going after goodies on the floor. Jazmine who just wants to please was very responsive working with Emma. Piper made good progress, but is also more of a live wire so she takes extra effort and time to get results. Just like with confirmation, Emma is a better obedience dog handler than I am. To an outsider it may look like I should work with Jazmine and Emma should work with Piper. Though the dogs are "ours", we gravitate towards a particular dog and the dogs to us. So the pairings are the way they should be.

Looks like I had many of my dates with the year as 2004 for the past few weeks. Thanks to Marcia for pointing that out to me.
I finally got the hard drive in my new workstation mounted in the case. The way the cable runs to the hard drive and DVD drive I can't use any of the hard drive bays. After many attempts I finally came up a system that works and mounted the drive under the DVD drive. I had to use the mount adapters off an old tape drive to get things to fit and modify a few bits and pieces to get things all put together.
My mom may have to turn her laptop in at work so I have been researching laptops for her. People can say what they want about Dell, but for a fair price I can get more than good enough hardware and 3 years of service and warrantee. My Dell laptop runs 24/7 and has for the better part of 3 years. Dell replaced the hard drive once for me and knock on wood, that has been my only issue with it.

The main computer at home is a Dell Inspiron 8100. It came with Windows XP Pro installed, but it never ran right. Specifically Internet Explorer would crash all the time. I ended up installing Windows 2000 and it ran well that way. Over the years I have used the restore CD to reinstall Windows XP a few time and the Internet Explorer issue whould return even with all the updates installed. Rebuild time has come again and I really wanted Windows XP installed so I can try things like Movie Maker. So I got hold of another copy of Windows XP Pro and installed it and ran Windows Update.

Been installing the last of the updates for Windows XP and testing Internet Explorer. So far no issue with IE and my wireless network is the only thing I have had any grief with.
